3 Things To Do While Visiting Las Vegas For A Convention
People flock to Las Vegas during the final weeks of January for some of the largest conventions in the nation. During this particular week, the SHOT Show and World Of Concrete conventions are taking place at the Sands Expo Center located inside the Venetian Hotel and Casino and at the Convention Center. Below are just a few suggestions of things to do when you get a free moment from the exhibitions.
The Bellagio Conservatory
The Bellagio conservatory is a must-visit destination while visiting Las Vegas. The 14,000 square-foot greenhouse is home to thousands of themed floral arrangements and trees that change with the seasons. Currently, the conservatory features their annual Chinese New Year display with giant dog sculptures made of flowers and foliage to represent the year of the dog. Because the conservatory is constantly changing, there is always something new and unique that draws visitors back each year.
Streetmosphere at The Venetian Las Vegas
Enjoy an exciting (and complimentary) variety show in the streets of St. Mark’s Square located inside the Grand Canal Shoppes. The renaissance inspired show features stilt walkers, opera singers, dance numbers and even living statues. The show is situated in a plaza beneath a faux sky surrounded by Italian restaurants and cafes that are sure to captivate you and transport you to the streets of Italy!
The Volcano at The Mirage
The Mirage Hotel and Casino boasts a massive volcano situated above a lagoon within a view’s distance from Las Vegas Blvd. Every hour after dusk, the volcano shoots fire balls 12 feet into the air. The pyrotechnics are accompanied by smoke effects and exciting music to draw the experience together. You can hear the sound of the volcano erupting from the street which is the sound of an actual volcanic eruption recording. If you happen to be strolling by the area, you may want to consider stopping and watching this spectacle.
Las Vegas is full of fun and exciting things to do, and just because you are visiting on business doesn’t mean you can’t stop and enjoy what the city has to offer. Many unique (and free) things may lie within a walking distance of your own hotel room. Would you like to learn more about fun and unique things to experience while in town? Click here.
