ODS Chauffeured Transportation, Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada Team Up to Promote Bike Safety
Community Partners Educate Las Vegas Casino Employees on Bike Safety
Las Vegas, NV (August 21, 2018) – ODS Chauffeured Transportation and the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) teamed up to spread the message on bike safety to Las Vegas Strip Casino employees that commute to work via bicycle on a daily basis.
Last week, ODS Chauffeured Transportation’s Training and Performance Manager, Mike Lowery, and RTC Bicycle & Community Outreach Coordinator, Ron Floth, distributed helmets to employees at multiple Strip properties. The two visited bike racks at each property where they handed out complimentary helmets, bike maps and discussed bike safety with various employees. Multiple chauffeurs also joined in on the efforts, as bike safety is a major part of ODS’ safety training protocol.
Properties that were visited included the Paris Las Vegas, Bellagio Hotel and Casino as well as the Venetian Las Vegas. They were able to speak with employees ranging from security to housekeeping to gaming. Many gladly accepted the helmets that were being gifted, and were interested in learning more about bike safety and what the RTC has to offer.
“At ODS Chauffeured Transportation, we believe in investing in our drivers, as well as our community,” Lowery said when asked about safety training at ODS. “We go the extra mile when it comes to safety because it’s important. We like to involve our community so our drivers get a better understanding of the landscape that they’re dealing with.”
Safety collaborations with ODS and the RTC do not stop at their bike safety efforts. ODS requires annual safety meetings that incorporate guest speakers, where representatives from the RTC are frequently involved.
ODS and the RTC plan to continue their bike safety efforts throughout the year by conducting quarterly outreach events. “I think it’s great that we were able to spark the conversation about bike safety among Las Vegas Strip employees,” said Madhavi Manes, Client Success Manager at ODS. “Now it’s important to keep that conversation going, by reaching more people and driving our efforts even further.”
